Dermatitis

Dermatitis means skin inflammation, but in general it includes a wide range of diseases. In most people, the early stages are identified by redness, dryness and itching of the skin. In very severe cases, it will be accompanied by scaling, painful cracks and even blisters.

Types of dermatitis

• Contact dermatitis

o Redness and sensitivity caused by the foreign materials.

• Nummular dermatitis

o This condition is characterized by red coin plaques that are mostly seen on the legs, hands, arms and body.

• Atopic dermatitis

o Itching, scaling, swelling and sometimes blistering of the skin are its symptoms. This type of dermatitis usually runs in families and is often associated with allergies, asthma, and stress. Any disturbance in the protective barrier of the skin leads to the loss of skin moisture and facilitating the entry of germs, which can also lead to atopic dermatitis.

• Seborrheic dermatitis

o Seborrheic dermatitis is a yellow or reddish scaly rash with sebum on the scalp, face, or even the genitals. When it occurs on the face, it is usually located in or near the eyebrow, hairline, or along the sides of the nose. Seborrheic dermatitis may be aggravated by stress and on the scalp of adults, it is known as dandruff.
